What is your favorite place?
Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, MI and on my motorcycle.
What is your go-to “feel good” song?
“Hold Me Closer” by Elton John and Brittney Spears
What do you do for self-care/self-love?
I generally do something outside or if the weather is not great then I will cook something.
Other than mental health, what is something you’re passionate about?
I like to volunteer with my friends at a few veteran-focused non-profits. It’s a way for me to continue enjoying the team cohesion that I experienced in the military.
As a child, What did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be Airborne Infantry, which I did for about ten years.
What is your favorite way to move your body?
My favorite way to move my body is on my motorcycle.
What is something you’ve learned about yourself recently?
I have discovered that listening to my body tells me more about what I need than listening to my thoughts.
Who is your ideal client?
I would say my ideal client is an older teen to an adult who is looking to heal, grow, or explore themselves in hopes of finding a healthier and more enjoyable life.
Why do you like being a therapist?
I like being a therapist because I enjoy helping people.
What is something you wish people knew about therapy?
You don’t have to stick with one therapist. Take the time to explore options and styles and find a therapist that helps you live your best life.
Why/how can people benefit from therapy?
Therapy is a great way to gain a better insight into one’s self while challenging yourself to be a stronger and healthier version of who you were yesterday.
What is something you’d like clients to know about you (or how you work)?
My approach to others is a client-centric and goal-orientated approach even if that means it takes some time to figure out what the client needs and wants to accomplish with therapy.
What does success in therapy look like to you?
Success is when the client’s intentions are coming to fruition.
What are your thoughts about the “stigma” of therapy?
Not everyone will think you are doing the right thing. So surround yourself with people who truly understand and support you in doing what helps you be a healthier person, physically and mentally.
